Context
In 1970, Colin Buchanan - he of "Report" fame - prepared a long academic article for the GLC on road plans that had been made for London since 1900. It provides a comprehensive overview of every person and organisation that had made serious road plans for the city in the motor age, and how each of those plans built on those of their predecessors.
