Context
This file is a piece of evidence submitted to the GLDP inquiry by the GLC, describing the A20(M) near Mottingham, presumably after the inquiry panel requested more information on how it would change the local environment.
The phrase "visual description" is ambiguous, but seems to mean that this is a description of how the road would look from various places. Perhaps the title was an attempt to distinguish it from the more usual engineering description of a road scheme.
It contains a few typed pages talking about how the road would be built, where it would run and whether it would be visible or audible from certain places. It refers only to the section of motorway planned between Ringway 2 at the Mottingham Interchange and the Green Lane junction to the south-east.
Contents of note
- Two cross-section diagrams showing the road sunken below ground level alongside the existing A20 Sidcup Road.
