==Context==

A glossy A4 booklet published by Lancashire County Council to commemorate the opening of the first phase of the M602, running from the (then) M63 interchange to Eccles.

It describes the road's route and its construction process in some detail, and includes a large number of black-and-white photographs of the road under construction and nearing completion.

==Contents of note==

* Map of the Manchester area at the time, marked with roads "in preparation pool" including Route 225, which is shown connecting to M61 at junction "5a".

* Large-scale plan of the route, showing that all bridges at the M62/M602 interchange are actually named.

* Photographs of the road itself and also the places and buildings it affected, including the derelict land it crossed; slum housing cleared and replaced with modern terraces; and the new building created for the New Immanuel Methodist Church, complete with a letter from the church's Superintendent Minister expressing his thanks to James Drake for having been treated so well.
