==Context==
In the late 1950s the MOT assumed responsibility for building the "D" Ring Road between the future Basingstoke Radial and the A11, having elevated the scheme to trunk road status. Where Middlesex County Council had been battling to find a suitable route for the road through North West London, the MOT solved the issue - temporarily, it turned out - by choosing a routing for the ring road along existing A-roads in Harrow and Pinner, which it planned to widen and upgrade.

This is the first of three files full of correspondence from unhappy people whose homes were affected by this decision, most of whom lived somewhere along the road and many of whom formed one of the earliest residents' associations focussed on fighting planned road improvements in London.

What's here are mostly, if not entirely, a record of correspondence of that type from 1957 and 1958.
