==Context==<br />
The Croydon East-West Flyover runs from Park Road to Duppas Hill Road in Croydon and was opened in about 1969 as a new dual carriageway link across the valley, carrying the A232 around the south of the town centre. It forms part of the long-planned ring road, though the only official word of the ring road's existence is on the front of this folder where it is labelled "Ring Road Phase II".<br />

This file contains virtually all there is to know on the subject, including some plan drawings of a small part of the viaduct's eastern end, some press clippings, some discussion between engineers about the faulty under-road heating system and more.<br />
<br />
Perhaps the most interesting find is the letter from Croydon's Borough Engineer to the Ministry of Transport indicating that the Barclay Road Roundabout at the road's eastern end was likely to be a bottleneck on the route (which it still is today, unchanged) and that it was one of several sites considered for car-only underpasses across Croydon. This is an intriguing subject which is, sadly, not explored any further here or anywhere else it seems.<br />
