One of many files in this corner of MT 120 that deal with the North Orbital Study, which looked at Ringway 3 and the North Orbital Road in north and north west London, this one is perhaps the biggest and fattest of them all, though it will reward you with worthwhile things. My notes, taken at the time the file arrived before me, begin with the phrase &amp;quot;hooo boy&amp;quot; and go on to say that it&amp;#039;s not clear whether it was actually just the result of throwing thousands of papers through a hay baler.&lt;br /&gt;

* Plans dated 1966 of Bucks CC-designed scheme for Denham Interchange, including a first phase and a final layout. One version shows an interim NOR proposal, from Iver to Denham, to be built as plain D2 without even grade separation, and designed to be widened and grade-separated later.&lt;br /&gt;
* A plan produced by Essex CC showing the safeguarded line for NOR.&lt;br /&gt;
* Some detail on proposed engineering standards for R3, including a suggestion of urban motorway standards and a 50mph limit between M3 and A40.&lt;br /&gt;
