==Context==
By 1970 plans were being made, albeit at a slow pace, to build three motorways that would have met near the village of Denham on the outskirts of London. The main focus of this document is the North Orbital Road and it was also planned to grade separate several junctions in the Watford area.

What would be nice is to see some maps and plans of the proposals which are sadly lacking here. Instead head over to part 2 of this document, [[MT 120/252]], which includes some amazing maps showing full junction layouts for the Denham area but nothing for Watford.
