	~~The Greater London Council had a huge, colourful map for showing off~~ the ~~centrepiece of its motorway~~ plans ~~- an A1 sheet with a pale rendition of an Ordnance Survey map of Greater London~~, ~~upon~~ which ~~were superimposed the line~~ of ~~Ringway 1~~, the ~~Balham Loop and a number~~ of ~~radial motorways. They are colour-coded (as are most~~ GLC ~~documents) with~~ the ~~lines in orange for ground level roads, red for below ground and purple for above ground. Junctions, alternative routes and railways are also marked~~.		Internal machinations within the Treasury concerning the Ringway plans, which makes for utterly fascinating reading. As well as several nuggets of information that are not found elsewhere, it has the full set of correspondence between the GLC and Treasury surrounding the government's disapproval.

			* GLC standard A1-size map of the Motorway Box, with colour-coded lines for sunken, elevated and ground-level motorways, as planned in 1967.
