Context

This is an enormous wedge of a file, though actually the material unique to this file and not held in any of the other billions of files in MT 106 about the "D" Ring Road and Ringway 3 is fairly sparse.

Somewhere in here is another copy of the Summarised Report by Brandt & O'Dell that first proposes a new rural line for the road around the west and north of the urban area, one of several held in various locations. Infuriatingly the full report doesn't seem to have survived anywhere at all.

There's also a folder containing 21 - twenty one! - plan sheets. Calm down, though: most are duplicates of each other, and few show anything much that can't be seen elsewhere. Sheet 21 is the most interesting, an OS One Mile sheet of London NW on which are marked the Red, Green and Blue lines for the "D" Ring - all suggestions put forward for the road in the early 1960s in an attempt to route it away from existing roads, and from which Brandt & O'Dell eventually came up with their rural line.
