Context
This file isn't really anything to do with ten mile maps, but is more a summary of the projections and production process the Ordnance Survey were using for small scale maps in the 1920s, particularly with the idea that quarter inch maps could be reduced down to a set of three ten mile maps instead.
Note that "ten mile map" does not imply anything with road numbers on - there were several different ten mile maps produced in the 1930s, roads merely being one of them.
Contents of note
A list of contemporary maps c. 1930, which marks the MOT maps as "obsolescent" and states that the quarter inch maps (predating the first ten mile map) were the official motoring maps to show MOT route numbers.
