Context

Much of the Survey is concerned with other infrastructure, such as railways, hospitals, housing and schools, but there is a transport section within. It should be noted that the Survey does not include County Boroughs, so nothing inside Wolverhampton, Stoke-on-Trent, Walsall, West Bromwich, Smethwick or Burton-upon-Trent is shown.

Contents of Note

  • Original routing of M6 through the county
  • Walsall Western Bypass, which became M6 later
  • Various planned improvements across the county
  • Description of road system as it stood at the time
