Context
This file has a promising title but there's not much here. William Rees Jeffreys was considered one of the pre-eminent experts on roads in the early 20th century, so his views are always worth hearing, but there is not much to hear in this file. It contains two copies of the same press article, written by Rees Jeffreys and detailing four road proposals that he considered necessary as the next stage of highway development in the UK.
His plans were for four roads - motorways in all but name, designed for fast travel across the country. These were London to Brighton, London to Southampton, London to South Wales and the West Midlands to Lancashire.
