The 1960s were well known for being a time for revolutionary ideas, and so it would seem appropriate that there's a file from this era talking about getting Britain to drive on the same side of the road as the continent. Well, the double whammy of the brand new Worboys signs and news that Sweden was going to switch to driving on the right made the MOT have a serious think about how much it would cost to do the same in this country.
It came up with a set of proposals, worked out the budget, and then in true Government style, sat on it and did nothing at all with it. Hey ho.
