Context
After the attempt to create a series of 3 inch / mile maps of London failed in the 1930s, the project was revisited after the war and looked at again. It was still not deemed commercially viable enough, and the emerging 1:25,000 maps covered the area sufficiently well. A-Z by this time had become established as the leading London street map maker, and the OS never really caught up again.
Contents
The file contains a few cover samples of a map, and a "mockup" which shows how the map would fold up (similar to a one inch map but with three folds instead of two) using a blank sheet of paper as a sample.
