Context

Despite the title, which suggests that this is a wide-ranging file on traffic signing, this file (and its next-door-neighbours) deals exclusively with the experiments made in the early 1960s with priority rules on roundabouts.

Frustratingly, it has almost no detail on the policy decisions made or the nature of the experiments conducted into priority-to-the-right rule that was being introduced. Instead it contains endless plan diagrams of roundabouts where the new rule was being introduced, with the placement of new priority signs. For every single one of them it includes a huge A1-size diagram of the pre-Worboys "Give Way to traffic from right" sign.

The whole thing is very tiresome and not very productive.
