Road numbering detail from the period in which much of the classification work was carried out. My ([[User:Chris5156]]) notes are very unhelpful on this file and read:

I take this to mean it's to do with allocating the minor numbers (B-roads and backwater A-roads) and is therefore not as interesting as earlier files that deal with the numbering of major roads.
This file is basically a budget sheet containing what money various local authorities got from the MoT to upkeep the maintenance of the roads. A tedious set of numbers. Maybe fun if you like 80 year old balance sheets; for the rest of us, don't bother with this one.

You are advised to avoid it like the plague. Its file title sounds rather interesting but it may contain only dull papers that fail to illuminate the subject matter or it may not even be related to the subject suggested by the title.

Chris' notes are very unhelpful on this file and read:
