Context
This file describes itself as referring to the "Iverness - Wick - Thurso Conversion of Railway Line". In reality it has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the file description or date. In fact, it's one of the most badly indexed files I've ever come across.
Dates from 1903 – no detail given in documentation, but appears to be simply a repair of the road to Carloway on the west coast. There is no suggestion of any early "motorway" or Motor Road, just correspondence between the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Ross & Cromarty County Council.
