Piccadilly Circus redevelopment: press cuttings

File baseSeries MT, subseries MT 106

Context

A continuation of the plans for redeveloping Piccadilly Circus described at MT 106/163. This file contains the responses that the press made to the publication of the proposals - in the form of articles, opinion pieces and letters.

These show a range of opinions as you might expect, weighted most heavily in favour of keeping what was there already. Most were fairly even-handed and restrained, but it's fair to say that everything clipped from the letters page of the Daily Telegraph was foaming at the mouth with anger.
