Context

This is the full set of tender documents for the Heads of the Valleys Road Section I works, which was the new road up the Clydach Gorge from Abergavenny to Brynmawr. The copy of those documents that is deposited here is the one that was sent to the winning bidder, John Morgan (Builders) Limited, and includes all their figures inscribed on them in ink.

This contract later ran into significant trouble, which is detailed at the files below.
