Context
This is one of those exciting-looking files that's actually a blue folder held together with bits of string that go round and round some cardboard washers. It contains multiple smaller folders, tied together with a treasury tag. Unfortunately, it's just a dumping ground for all kinds of miscellaneous stuff about the "D" Ring and Ringway 3, from any time between the 1930s and the 1970s. It's like a lucky dip and you would have to be pretty desperate to feel lucky about finding most of it.
If there is any unifying theme here it appears to be that most items have some connection to press releases or press cuttings, though not all of them do, and some are actually about property or land acquisition.
A number of folders marked "Oxhey" contain badly photocopied extracts of plan sheets of the Brandt & O'Dell rural line for Ringway 3, which at least proves that engineering plans were made for it, even if the only ones that can be seen here are tiny and fairly unrevealing extracts from them. One shows the layout of the A4008 interchange.
